Son of a legendary father and father of a legendary son, Humayun’s role in the Mughal dynasty is often the shortest of paragraphs of Mughal history in textbooks. Humayun’s rule was marked by wars and betrayals, but in the short time he was at the helm of the Mughal empire, Humayun Padishah spent much of his time dabbling in mysticism and the occult. He was also a great innovator and took pride in his inventions. In this heritage walk, we explore the various graves and tombs at the Humayun’s Tomb complex, and talk about the life and times of Humayun, about his delusions and despair, about his epic rivalry with Sher Shah Sur, his journey through Iran, and how he became the ultimate comeback king!
